What a gorgeous project and great book. My children love counting down the days till Christmas, but I find having something in every advent calendar pocket a bit of work. Must make more of an effort this year. Soon they'll be too old to bother.

My daughter loves counting down to her birthday. The countdown starts the day after a birthday! 365, 364, 363...you get the idea!

Hi Louise, what a great project! My boy likes counting down to everything! Christmas, birthdays, special outings and even days until his next day at preschool.
Congratulations Louise your countdown calender is just lovely. My boys count down to everything apart from going back to school after holidays that is. At the minute they are planning their birthdays which are next July !!

What a lovely giveaway. We are counting down to The Husband being on Jury Service in 10 days. It gives us a whole two weeks of him being home every night instead of travelling the country as he normally does. Bliss.
I'd love to win the book, it looks fantastic, we use an Advent calendar, every year.
We count down with a calender that looks like a calender. But there are pockets with peaple and animals in them. Each night we pull one out and stick it on top of the calender where there is a space for them. At Christmas we pull out Jesus. Then we have a Christmas scene!
We always count down the days to our next overseas holiday back to the homeland. We usually go once a year and start counting down 2 months before we leave. Congratulations for being in a great looking book.

I LOVE your advent calendar/quilt. I've had it bookmarked for a while and this summer (I'm a slow worker)I started working on one for my own family. I used your blocks as inspiration (some are the same, others I drew up myself). I hope you don't mind!
I count down to holidays, and for the kids it's Christmas and birthdays! Love your work!!
THe book looks lovely. We always count how many sleeps until birthdays, Christmas, and the grandparents visit.

I do want to rewrite the pattern but my goal is to do the advent calendar. That was the main reason I purchased the book!
