An apple a day.

I don't seem to be getting anything done and the year is whizzing by. I have spent days trying to organise Lucinda's 5th Birthday party after realising it is only a few weeks away. She wants a Fairy Princess party with a visit from a fairy that looks like Barbie and does face painting. Hmmmm..

She made this lovely apple for me.

I have managed to do a little bit of knitting. This is another freebie pattern I discovered and hopefully the wool I am using will be ok - so far so good.

I also made a quick handbag for another little friend's Birthday, keeping to my promise to make as many gifts as possible this year.

We enjoyed these for afternoon tea today - dark chocolate, cherry and coconut muffins.

It was Anzac Day. A day of reflection to remember and celebrate the wonderful young men and women we lost as they bravely fought for our country's freedom during the last century. It was lovely weather and as the girls played in the garden I could hear all our neighbours entertaining and lots of happy laughter - a great reminder of how lucky we are!

I know I feel truly blessed!

So many projects, so little time!

I really want to say thank you for such a lovely warm welcome to blogland. Some of you I already knew and now I've found some other great new places to visit. My biggest thanks must go to Ali for announcing my arrival and being so encouraging. She also taught me how to do that link! Yes Ali it works and I feel so clever. So as a little thank you I am sending a special something over - here is a sneak peek!

That is just one of my current projects. Here is another.

This is an extra little present for our friend Sophia's 7th Birthday. She doesn't know what it is and I said I would give her a clue. Can you guess what it is?

And look what lovely happy colours just arrived in the mail for me.

These are for a few different projects including a granny quilt for me and a green cardy, also for me. I have been making so much for others it will be nice to keep a few things for myself. And I am dying to get knitting and crocheting now that our weather is cooling down.

The next work in progress is a cot quilt that I am making for a friend's daughter who turns one this month.

I am still deciding how to piece the top together as it isn't big enough with just these blocks. I think it will end up quite scrappy which I really like.

And finally, a much longer term project that is nearly finished.

My baby girl Daphne's cot quilt. Only a little bit of quilting to go and then a label. I am so pleased with it and it looks lovely in her room.

I am hoping that by putting these out there I will be more enthusiastic about completing them. It's worth a try anyway...

Cupcake Heaven

Today was Sophia's 7th Birthday party. And look at these gorgeous creations made by Helen who always makes something special for our Mother's Group parties.

These were made by me.

I have also finished a new work bag for the lovely Christina's birthday.

She loves and collects babushka dolls and is known for her love of anything red particularly her lippy - I couldn't resist these fabrics!

Starting and Finishing

Sometimes you put off starting things and sometimes you put off finishing things. I am guilty of both. So I have decided to dive right in and get this blog started. If anything I am sure it will help me get some things finished! Here are some Easter treats I started and the family finished.

Mmmm yummy!!!
