A name tag

I was tagged a while ago by the lovely Cathy to play the name game.

Here’s how it works:1. Players must list one fact, word, or tidbit that is somehow relevant to their life for each letter of their first or middle name.2. When you are tagged you need to write your own post containing your first or middle name game facts, word, or tidbit.3. At the end of your post choose one person for each letter of your name to tag.4. Don’t forget to leave a comment telling them that they have been tagged, and to read your blog....

So I have decided to do my first name and rather than blathering about myself I thought I would use it to explain my excellent visit to Camberwell Market today.

L is for lucky, lovely and loot. See this tin. I was admiring it and wondering whether to purchase it or not.

Market loot

O is for open and ooh which is what I did, in that order. Because look what was inside.

Market Loot

U is for unexpected and unbelievable. And what happened next was both. "You can have that", a voice from behind a rack of clothes called out! And after checking about three times that he meant it, I took it. I haven't had a proper look in it yet but I must say that completely made my day!

I is for irresistible. And that's how I would describe lots of goodies at this market.

S is for scoring these gorgeous old pillow cases and rose tin. I never find stuff like this and as they were shutting up shop I got the lot for a song!

Market Loot

E is for excellent, a truly excellent day's shopping!

It is also for everyone I know has already been tagged. So if you haven't been, feel free to join in!

Top box! And now you really really have me wondering how awful your middle name is!

(Mine's Louise so not awful at all, but my brother's is Sydney which he loathes!!)

Wow - what a haul - I know it's such a thrill getting great sheets from the op-shops these days. Love those ones.

ps Louise - I've changed my blog name to 'sew mad'. But when you click on 'thirties green' in your side bar it won't take your there. You will have to click here for the link. That's if you are still interested in my ramblings. Cheers Donna

My goodness! What great finds! We've got a similar secondhand market here in Sydney, but its all so pricey now, its almost not even worth the trip anymore.

What great finds. I love your fabrics. I was gutted to miss out on a button tin at the weekend - the seller was selling all the buttons individually and as there were heaps she didn't want to sell the whole tin for less than £10. Not a bargain really. Lucky you indeed!!

Great finds at the markets!!! I love both tins especially the swan one. What a lovely man to give you all of those goodies for free. He must of known you would put them to good use.

I love collecting old pillowcases too, and have that bottom purple and green one, and the matching doona cover on my daughter's bed. When my mother-in-law saw it, she couldn't believe I'd like something like that: she's got the EXACT same one still packed away from 30 years ago!

Wow what a fantastic haul!
I never seem to have such luck at markets and op shops but perhaps I am looking in the wrong places.
Your Christmas stockings are looking so lovely. I had the intention of making some last year, but then I saw some in Coles for about $2.50 and laziness won out. Of course the Coles ones (which are now mine) aren't nearly as lovely as those you've made.

I love all the goodies you got and bought too. The tin looks full of wonderful items, and the fabric is so cute and pretty. It seems you had a really wonderful shopping day.
